Daniele studied at the Saint Louis College of Music in Rome where he graduated on Bass.
In summer 2008 his school had an exchange project with the Academy for Popculture in Leeuwarden, and that's when Daniele fell in love with the Dutch musicscene and decided to move to the Netherlands. In 2008 Daniele moved to Groningen and quickly started to play and tour with some fine artists like Richard Smith, Sietse Huisman, and ofcourse with his and his friend Marco Cinelli's band Growlin' Love & Pain, the rockband they formed together back in Italy. In 2009 electro chick Krause was looking for a bassplayer and immediately chose Daniele for her live band, which gave him the opportunity to play in the finest European concert halls and support artists like Kelis, Miss Kittin, Mark Ronson and Peaches. Smoothjazz Europe also discovered Daniele's skills and via them he started playing and touring with great jazz artists like Tom Braxton, Chieli Minucci and Bob Baldwin. Doing a lot of gigs, guest appearences (with Elske de Wall, Twarres and other projects), Daniele got also asked to play bass for another band; Le Titre, a fabulous pop-jazzband from Groningen.
In the meantime Daniele also produces his own electronic music, used in Italian TV-shows and with Jah Depender's Bassculture. Since 2010 Daniele is busy on teaching and doing masterclasses all over the Netherlands, including clinics about modern electric bass technique and new rock, funk bass and improvisation style.
Daniele also works with Bassgallery Beilen where he gives his bass workshops and clinics featuring bassplayers from all over europe. Via the Bassgallery, Daniele was discovered by Sandberg Bass and Glockenklang which became his sponsors. In 2011 Daniele became a teacher at MijnMuziekles by Bob Willemstein in Eindhoven. Besides that he also gives his two-day long workshops every month at the Academy for Popculture in Leeuwarden.
2011 was also the year of playing in Ben Saunders' live band. Highlights were on Queensday with over 250.000 people watching and a completely sold-out clubtour. In Spring there was an European tour with Kofi Baker's Tribute to Cream, together with Tony Spinner and special guest Jan Akkerman. In the same year Daniele co-wrote and arranged songs for the EP of Dutch female rockband the Dudettes, and recorded them in Erwin Musper's Bamboo Room in the USA. Early 2012 Daniele did auditions for the big Dutch rockformation Kane, now making him also bassplayer for this great band who sells out the biggest venues in Holland. |
